The Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Ladi Adebutu, alongside a large crowd of peaceful protesters, visited the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abeokuta to protest the state election results.

The sitting Governor of the State, Dapo Abiodun, won the elections held on Saturday, 18th of March, 2023.

But Adebutu, alongside many other protesters, converged on Tuesday to contest the state’s election results.

They, however, couldn’t enter the premises of the electoral umpire, as security operatives barred the entrance.

Swiftly responding to the allegations of rigging, the Publicity Secretary of Ogun APC, Tunde Oladunjoye, refuted the claims as false.

He further called for the arrest of some PDP members who, he alleged, possessed proaded Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and permanent voter cards (PVCs) on election day, by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
