Former Enugu State governor, Chimaroke Nnamani, has urged Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to withdraw his petition challenging the election of Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Election Tribunal.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Mr Nnamani advised Mr Obi and his supporters to accept the reality of Mr Tinubu’s victory and withdraw the petition.

He further suggested that Mr Obi’s petition was an attempt to demarket Mr Tinubu and damage his reputation, and it lacked any legal or electoral merit.

Mr Nnamani also expressed his belief that Mr Obi did not have the national appeal or spread to win the presidential election, and that his petition was ego-driven and a joke carried too far.

He encouraged Mr Obi to come down from his high horse and negotiate on behalf of the Igbo nation and South-East for a stake in the national share of the accruals of the commonwealth.

Mr Nnamani believes that it is time for the Igbo nation to align with the mainstream and participate in the making of a new Nigeria.

He emphasized the need for the Igbo nation to confront reality and bargain for their own share in the national share of the accruals of the commonwealth.
