An airline has been ordered to pay therapy costs for a plus-size influencer as she claims they made her feel like a ‘fat monster’.
Influencer Juliana Nehme, 38, claimed Qatar Airways discriminated against her due to her size after they allegedly refused to let her board her flight home to Brazil without paying £2,500 because she was “Too fat.”
On the return journey with Qatar Airways, she claims she was not allowed to board her flight from Beirut to Doha on November 22.
I was a fat monster that couldn’t get on board.
Qatar Airways claim the influencer was not permitted to board due to her “Extremely rude and aggressive” behaviour towards staff, and the fact that someone in her group did not have the correct Covid-19 documentation.
A court in Sao Paulo has determined that Qatar Airways should pay for weekly psychological treatment for Ms Nehme, a hearing said on December 12.
Judge Renata Martins de Carvalho ruled that the airline must pay for “a weekly therapy session worth BRL 400 for a period of at least one year, totalling BRL 19,200”.
