Tobi Amusan, the world champion and world record holder in the 100m hurdles, is currently under investigation for allegedly missing three drug tests within a 12-month period.
This charge could potentially result in a two-year suspension, even if an athlete has never failed a drug test before.
Amusan has taken to her Instagram to share this development and has stated her intention to contest the charge.
She believes that she is a clean athlete and has faith that the issue will be resolved in her favor before the start of the upcoming World Championships in Budapest, where she hopes to defend her title.
Despite the investigation, it is important to note that Amusan currently holds the world record for the women’s 100m hurdles, which she set at last year’s World Athletics Championships with a time of 12.12 seconds.
