Vin Diesel and John Cena, two of the stars of the highly anticipated tenth installment of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise, took over Rome for the ‘Fast X’ premiere.
The event, dubbed the ‘Road to Rome’ premiere, was held at the Forum’s Temple of Venus, with a stunning historical backdrop.
Alongside Diesel and Cena, other cast members such as Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, and Rita Moreno also graced the red carpet.
Lucky viewers who attended the premiere described the movie as “stupidly entertaining” and a “visual spectacle,” with some praising Jason Momoa’s performance as the main villain.
The choice of Rome as the location for the premiere was fitting, as some of the film’s most high-octane action scenes were shot in Rome and its surrounding cities.
Diesel expressed his excitement about returning to the Eternal City, stating that he never would have dreamed of filming in front of the Colosseum 20 years ago.
The ‘Fast X’ director, Louis Leterrier, also revealed that all the action scenes shot in Rome were real, including the use of a one-ton ball set on fire.
