Manchester United fans will still have to see Cristiano Ronaldo as he’s included in their 2023 official club calendar.
His exit was widely accepted as the best solution for both parties – but it’s left United with a headache when it comes to their merchandise for next year, as it came too late for him to be replaced in the calendar.
The only saving grace is Ronaldo features on the January page, so supporters can get him out of the way first before moving on to Harry Maguire in February and then Marcus Rashford in March.
Whether the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was purposefully moved to the start of the calendar in recent weeks is unknown.
The product, which is now already outdated before the year has begun, costs £10.99 to buy.
United have heavily discounted other merch with Ronaldo’s name on. T-shirts which were previously priced at £20 have been reduced to just a fiver.
The same goes for a mug which was initially £10. Fans can also get a £5 key ring and phone case for just £2 each, while a £3 badge is also the same price.
Ronaldo is currently exploring the options for his next club while also focusing on the World Cup with Portugal.
A £173million deal has reportedly been tabled by Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr, but the 37-year-old is still looking to play Champions League football.
