Mikel Obi – Chelsea
Mikel is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder in his career. He is the most recent Nigerian player to win the UEFA Champions League trophy.
The Nigerian legend won the prestigious trophy in 2012 when his side (Chelsea) defeated Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties in the final and he was praised for his impressive performances in the final.
Nwankwo Kanu – Ajax
Kanu is a former professional footballer who played as a forward during his playing days. He played for notable clubs like Ajax, Inter Milan and Arsenal and was one of the first Nigerian players to have lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy alongside teammate Finidi George.
Nwankwo won the trophy in 1995 when Ajax edged AC Milan 1-0 in the final with the winning goal from Patrick Kluivert in the 85th minute.
Finidi George – Ajax
Finidi is a former professional footballer who played as a winger during his career. He made his name at Ajax and won the UEFA Champions League there in 1995.
George played the full 90 minutes in Ajax’s 1-0 win over AC Milan in the final.
