Arsenal leaks: Jorginho spotted in new Gunners kit with shirt number revealed

Jorginho has been seen wearing an Arsenal kit for the first time, as his shirt number was leaked after a deal was agreed between Chelsea and Arsenal.

The transfer is initially worth £10 million.

Mikel Arteta had prioritised a midfielder in the last few days of the transfer window, with Brighton’s Moises Caicedo being their top target.

However, Arsenal’s two offers of £60m and £70m were both rejected by Brighton.

Jorginho appeared to confirm the move himself when his agent posted a picture on Instagram of Jorginho wearing the Arsenal home kit and tracksuit bottoms with ‘No 20’ stamped onto them.

The 31-year-old Italian has signed an 18-month contract which includes an option for Arsenal to extend it by another year if they wish to do so.

Despite there being some mixed reactions from fans on social media regarding this move, Partey had been forced off with a rib injury during their FA Cup fourth-round defeat and Elneny had suffered a serious knee injury in training, so there was not many other options for Arteta.

Albert Sambi Lokonga is set to go out on loan as Crystal Palace looks set to take him until the end of this season following Jorginho’s arrival.
