Arsenal have returned with a new £70 million offer for Moises Caicedo of Brighton, but also plan to add West Ham’s Declan Rice to their midfield in the summer.
The Seagulls had that original offer of £60 million from the Gunners rejected, prompting Caicedo to post a plea for his release on social media.
This saw Brighton give him time off leading up to the window closure, although Arsenal’s latest move could mean the Ecuadorian has already made his stay at the Amex.
Reports claim that this revised bid includes £10 million in add-ons along with the original fee, while Brighton remain keen on their record sale price of Marc Cucurella to Chelsea, who moved for £56 million plus any potential add-ons.
However, it isn’t a case of one or the other for Arsenal as they look to strengthen their midfield; Mikel Arteta and co. are eyeing both players but another world record outlay will be required if they are to sign them both this winter.
