During the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) annual general conference in Abuja, a controversy arose when controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, was announced as the guest performer.
Some lawyers who were attending the conference staged a walkout in protest.
The event, called ‘Unbarred,’ took place at the Velodrome, MKO Abiola Stadium, and featured a brief speech by NBA president Yakubu Maikyau, as well as entertainment by a DJ before Portable took the stage.
Many of the lawyers were angered by the choice of Portable and decided to leave the show.
Some of the protesting lawyers expressed their dissatisfaction with the singer’s presence, criticizing his appearance and questioning why he was invited to perform for lawyers at the conference.
Despite the walkout, some lawyers chose to stay and watch Portable’s performance.
