Erling Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, refused to confirm if the Manchester City striker has an exit clause in his contract when questioned about it recently.
However, she did suggest that Barcelona President Joan Laporta would be welcome to make an offer for her client.
Last year, Xavi and representatives from Barcelona visited Germany to meet Haaland, fueling speculation of him joining La Liga one day.
Haaland had previously expressed a desire to play in Spain at some point in his career and Pimenta indicated that she wouldn’t object if he wanted to leave Man City for Barcelona at some stage.
When asked if he had an exit clause in his contract that was due to come into effect in 2024, Pimenta declined to provide details but said they could look into it if he chooses to move on from City.
She advised that it’s not beneficial for a footballer to think too far ahead while still playing for their current club and referred to Haaland being “married” to City right now.
Additionally, when probed about the possibility of the Norwegian making a switch across Europe, Pimenta mentioned her positive relationship with Laporta before adding that whatever request he makes of her she will inevitably say yes!
And finally she put forward a huge sum as the market value of her star player: €1 billion!
It’s unlikely any team will pay this much but his contribution compared with goalscoring exploits is immense according to Pimenta who noted all the other elements he brings with him such as fans and sponsorships when looking at contributing factors like digital content and notoriety.
As things stand, Haaland has already scored 31 goals in 27 appearances during his time at Manchester City after registering 86 goals from 89 games with Borussia Dortmund before joining them last season.
