The Federal Government has recently dismissed Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, the Managing Director of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), along with five other directors of the agency.
Yadudu was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, and Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed has been appointed as his replacement.
The new FAAN boss was previously the Regional General Manager, North Central, and Airport Manager at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Similar changes are expected to occur in other agencies, including the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and the National Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).
Additionally, a number of senior personnel have resigned from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) due to pressure from the Ministry of Aviation to waive certain regulations in order to launch the controversial national carrier, Nigeria Air, before May 29, 2023.
