On Wednesday morning, President Muhammadu Buhari and All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu met at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The purpose of the meeting is not yet known but it is likely related to election preparations as the election is just 10 days away.
It has been speculated that the 40-minute delay before arriving at the Council Chambers to preside over this week’s Federal Executive Council meeting was part of President Buhari’s preparation for his meeting with Tinubu.
Another reason cited for the delay was due to an adjourned hearing concerning a dispute between the Nigerian Government and Central Bank of Nigeria on a new Naira policy.
After the meeting at Aso Villa, Buhari moved to the Council Chambers where several ministers and cabinet members were waiting.
