Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is once again trying to bring Messenger back into its main app.
Last December, rumors of the reintegration surfaced when Matt Navarra, a social media consultant, tweeted screenshots of the new feature.
Tom Alison, Facebook’s Head of Messaging Products officially confirmed the news with a blog post in February and shared that the Facebook team was “testing” the integration with a few people and are planning on bringing it to even more soon.
With this feature change, users will be able to access their inboxes directly on the Facebook app without downloading Messenger separately.

Although there is no time-frame for roll out yet, it likely won’t be too far away as Facebook is openly discussing it already.
