Party Chieftain weighs Wike's Alliance With Tinubu & how it Will Affect Amaechi

Reports that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike’s alliance with All Progressives Congress (APC) National leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would have an impact on Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi were rebuffed by a top political chieftain in the state.

The source made it clear that Amaechi has no plans of defecting from the party nor does he feel swayed by any relationship between the two.

“It is not true that he has met Atiku. He is not leaving APC, the party he co-founded,” he said.

A Rivers State APC chieftain, Steve Nwankwo, has asserted that no matter what alliance Wike strikes up with Tinubu, the influence of Amaechi in the party will remain intact.

He pointed out that Amaechi is not likely to abandon a party that he “laboured hard” to build.

Nwankwo added that neither Amaechi nor his supporters are fearful of whatever understanding Wike and G5 Governors may come to with Tinubu.
