Raheem Sterling, a forward for Chelsea, has shared his thoughts on what new manager Mauricio Pochettino will bring to the team.
Pochettino, who previously coached Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain, recently signed a two-year contract with an option for a one-year extension.
Sterling believes that Pochettino will provide leadership, a respected personality at Stamford Bridge, and physical and mental challenges for the players.
“From his time before at Tottenham, I heard a conversation about him and he is the exact person that we need,” Sterling told Arab News.
“He will bring leadership, he will challenge players physically and mentally and I think he is going to come here and he is going to have the personality that everyone is going to respect. That’s what we need, someone in charge,” he said.
Sterling has heard positive things about Pochettino from his time at Tottenham and believes he is the right person for the job.
Overall, Sterling believes that Chelsea needs someone in charge who can bring these qualities to the team.
