During the annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) held in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu declared Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as the “landlord of Abuja.”
Tinubu jokingly asked Wike not to give him free land if he ever requested it, but instead urged him to focus on delivering the Abuja metroline for the benefit of Nigerians.
Wike, on his part, had previously announced plans to demolish illegal buildings and structures in the territory to restore the Abuja master plan and improve the city.
He also emphasized the government’s commitment to revoking lands that have not been developed and reclaiming uncompleted buildings that have become a haven for criminals.
