APC suspends NDDC chair, Lauretta Onochie

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has suspended Lauretta Onochie, the Chairperson of the Niger Delta Development Commission, due to her conduct during the recent general elections.

The party executives in Onicha-Olona, Ward 4 in Aniocha North accused Onochie of campaigning for opposition parties, particularly the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and instructing her allies and supporters to work for the PDP, resulting in the APC losing in her polling unit.

The suspension letter, signed by 27 Ward Executives, also stated that Onochie has not fulfilled her financial obligations to the party and has never attended any ward or LGA meetings or other party engagements.

The suspension is effective immediately, and Onochie has lost the confidence of the party.
