The Nollywood industry is once again in mourning as news of the passing of Yoruba movie actor, Murphy Afolabi, surfaced less than 24 hours after the death of another popular actor, Saint Obi.
The Yoruba actor and filmmaker reportedly passed away on May 14, 2023, after falling in his bathroom at his home in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The news was shared by fellow filmmakers, including Seun Olaiya and Abdullahi Abdulrasaq.
Afolabi had appeared in over 60 movies since entering the industry in 2001, including titles such as ‘Ifa Olokun’, ‘Omowunmi’, and ‘Idera’.
The Yoruba film community has expressed their condolences to Afolabi’s family and loved ones.
