Tottenham have reached an agreement to appoint Thomas Frank as their next head coach, following the departure of Ange Postecoglou. Frank, currently managing Brentford, is expected to step into the role after successful negotiations between both clubs.
According to the PA news agency, Tottenham identified Frank as their preferred candidate shortly after parting ways with Postecoglou, who left just 16 days after winning the Europa League. Talks quickly focused on the terms of Frank’s contract, which was originally due to run until 2027. Brentford’s release clause, understood to be around £10 million, became a key part of the discussions.
After several days of negotiation, an agreement was confirmed on Thursday. A key part of the deal will see Justin Cochrane, Brentford’s respected first-team coach, join Frank at Tottenham. Cochrane, who began his coaching career at Spurs, will now return to the club in a senior role.
“It’s an exciting opportunity and I’m looking forward to what we can achieve at Tottenham,” Frank said.
Frank’s move marks a new chapter for Spurs as they prepare for the upcoming season under fresh leadership.
