Manchester City have completed the signing of Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig for a fee of £77.6 million.
The 21-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the Premier League champions.
Gvardiol, who spent the last two seasons at Leipzig, made 87 appearances for the club and was also a key player in Croatia’s run to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar.
He expressed his excitement about joining Manchester City and working with manager Pep Guardiola, stating that he believes his game will progress under the guidance of the best coach in football.
Gvardiol will provide competition on the left side of City’s defense and adds to their already strong squad as they aim to continue their success in the upcoming season.
