10. Kalusha Bwalya – Zambia (10 goals)

He won the AFCON top scorer award in 2002 after scoring three goals in the tornament. Patrick is the third highest goalscorer for the Indomitable Lions with 33 goals in 57 appearances.

6. Hossam Hassan – Egypt (11 goals)

Hassan assumes the spot of sixth in this list of Africa cup of nations’ top goalscorers with 11 goals in 21 appearances for Egypt. He won the AFCON golden boot once in the 1998 edition after scoring seven goals in the tournament.

The former Al Ahly forward won the AFCON three times in 1986, 1998, and 2006 and he is the highest goalscorer for Egypt with 68 goals in 176 games for them.

5. Didier Drogba – Ivory Coast (11 goals)

Drogba sits fifth in this list of highest goalscorers of all time in AFCON with 11 goals in 24 appearances for Ivory Coast.

El-Shazly is the fourth highest goalscorer in the history of AFCON with 12 goals in 8 apearances for Egypt.

The former Tersana forward won the AFCON golden boot in 1963 after scoring six goals in the tournament and he is Egypt’s third highest goalscorer of all time with 42 goals in 62 caps for the Pharaohs.

3. Rashidi Yekini – Nigeria (13 goals)

Yekini sits third in this list of Africa cup of nations’ top goalscorers with 13 goals in 20 appearances for Nigeria.

He won the AFCON title in 1994 and also won the golden boot in that year after scoring five goals in the tournament.

2. Laurent Pokou – Ivory Coast (14 goals)

Eto’o is the highest goalscorer in the history of AFCON with 18 goals to his name in 29 caps for Cameroon. The former Barcelona striker broke Laurent Pokou’s record of 18 goals as early as 2008 after he netted the fourth goal in his side’s 5-1 win over Zambia.
